Called my order in and told them I was 20 minutes away, the nice lady said call me half way here we will drop your order then so you get the best experience! Big points for that!!!
We had catfish plates. Cat fished was seasoned great, perfect crispy cooked to perfection.
Sides I enjoyed the dirty rice and Cajun Mac and cheese. We had the fries and okra as well.
Don’t forget the corn bread a must have with any meal. Get extra you will thank me later.
Service was great and friendly good energy from the people preparing the food with love.
Highly recommend. We drove about an hour and well worth it.

Don't let the gas station fool you. This is one of the best soul food restaurants I have been to in San Antonio. The food was absolutely delicious, piping hot and a huge portion. You get a huge bang for your buck. I ordered the fried catfish and it was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. They don't offer collard greens on Monday but I plan to come back and try them! There are only a couple of tables in the store but I was able to snag one. The guy in front of me order Gumbo and said it was as good as you can't get in New Orleans. I highly recommend this place!

Soul food at its finest in my opinion. Been twice in two days and will go tomorrow for lunch! First day I had the fish and shrimp combo with red beans and rice and the cajun mac and cheese. I put my fork down after each bite to savor the flavor. Today I had the fried pork chops with greens and red beans. I was gnawing on the bones! I didn't realize it was in a gas station but dont let it throw you off. You can call in your order which is what I'll do tomorrow because the chicken takes 22 minutes to cook. They cook everything to order. Comes out hot and delicious. The portions are huge and the prices are low in my opinion. I couldn't even come close to finishing it all so i get to eat it again for dinner! Very happy I found this place!
